How did i earn money from upwork online job

I did register to the www.odesk.com , then it had been changed to upwork. But my previous 9 $ balance is still there, i received my first balance when a client review My Upwork Profile, and then they sent me an invitation to do a selection process. It was a multiple question or tests which related to Asterisk and Linux knowledge. They sent me 9$, as an appreciation.

Many years later, when the odesk had been changed to upwork, i started to bid again. My first client is an US person who want me to comment on his linux website tutorial, the comment must be a constructive and validated comment. I put a 100 comments till he drop me a payment, and plus bonus, since he was satisfied with my jobs.

The 2nd client, was an Indian which s staying at US, the job is to remote login to his PC, and fix the network problem in the Virtual box, the guest is Centos and Ubuntu. With this client, i was hired for several milestone, so since the first milestone had been paid, then i was assigned to the next task, i was told to give an online presentation about creating a KVM in a Centos. The rate is per hour, my published rate is 6$ and he want me to lower it to 5$.
